Elstree & Borehamwood Islamic Community (EBIC) (www.ebic.org.uk) has been serving the Muslim community of Elstree, Borehamwood, and the surrounding areas since 2008. What began as a small rented hall for Jummah and Taraweeh prayers soon evolved into a converted shop Musalla. Over time, we secured a leased space on Maxwell Road, which has served as our dedicated place of worship and community engagement ever since. Now, we are embarking on a transformative step forward. Alhamdulillah, after 17 years of growth and development, we have reached a significant milestone—securing an agreement to purchase the land, ensuring a permanent home for our masjid and the wider community. Our masjid is more than a place of prayer; it is a vital institution that serves multiple roles: ✔ A center for Islamic education – fostering the next generation through structured children’s programs ✔ A hub for community engagement – strengthening connections through events, halaqas, and social initiatives ✔ A pillar of faith and service – addressing the spiritual and social needs of the community This milestone marks a crucial step in securing a lasting legacy for future generations.
